The Medina County District Library Board of Trustees met in special session on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Medina Library. With a quorum present, President Maria Griffiths called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
Roll call: The following members were present: Dr. Maria Griffiths, William Koran, Caleb Parker, Brian Harr, and Jill McGarr.
Library staff members in attendance: Julianne Bedel, Director; Allison Gaebelein, Fiscal Officer; Jenna Elswick, Human Resources Manager; and Jennifer O’Neill, Deputy Fiscal Officer acting as recording secretary.
Approval of the Agenda: Mr. Harr motioned, and Mr. Koran seconded the motion to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
Resolution 23-37: Upon recommendation of the Personnel Committee, the Board of Trustees of the Medina County District Library hereby authorizes the Fiscal Officer to accept alternative Medical Mutual of Ohio healthcare plan SMP PPO 2020-500 Rx SM1 as quoted (5.4% increase, rate guaranteed through December 31, 2024) for the plan year 2024. Renewal of the current Humana Vision (6.12% increase rate locked through 1/1/2026), Humana Dental (9.9% increase for one year), Humana Life/Accidental Death/Dismemberment (12.5% for one year) is authorized. Motion carried.
Adjournment: There being no further business, Mr. Harr motioned, and Mr. Parker seconded the motion to adjourn the meeting at 6:03 p.m. Motion carried.
