The Medina County District Library Board of Trustees met in special session on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at Medina Library. With a quorum present, President Griffiths called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
Roll call was taken with the following members present: Maria Griffiths, William Koran, Caleb Parker, Ryan Carlson, Brian Harr, Mark Krosse, and Jill McGarr.
Library staff in attendance: Julianne Bedel, Director acting as recording secretary. Consultant Robert Hlasko of the Educational Service Center of Medina County was also present.
At 6:01 p.m., Mr. Koran moved and Mr. Parker seconded the motion to enter into executive session to consider the appointment of a public employee. A roll call vote was taken with the following results: Dr. Griffiths – Aye; Mr. Koran – Aye; Mr. Parker – Aye; Mr. Carlson – Aye; Mr.Harr–Aye; Mr.Krosse –Aye; Ms.McGarr –Aye.Motion Carried. Director Bedel and Mr. Hlasko remained.
Regular session resumed at 9:59 p.m.
Mr. Koran moved and Ms. McGarr seconded to authorize Mr. Harr to negotiate on behalf of the Board of Trustees a Fiscal Officer employment offer with Allison Gaebelein. A roll call vote was taken with the following results: Dr.Griffiths – Aye; Mr.Koran – Aye; Mr.Parker – Aye; Mr. Carlson – No; Mr. Harr – Aye; Mr. Krosse – Aye; Ms. McGarr – Aye. Motion Carried.
Mr. Carlson noted that he believes Ms. Gaebelein will serve as a very good Fiscal Officer.
There being no further business, Mr. Harr moved and Mr. Parker seconded the motion to adjourn the meeting at 10:00 p.m. Motion carried.
