What to bring:

What is provided:

  • Turntable
  • Audacity Software for audio capture and editing

Instructions for Use:

  1. Turn the turntable on.
  2. Place your record on the turntable and press the start button.
  3. Select the correct RPM for your record.
  4. Lift the tone arm and move to the track where you want to start recording.
  5. On the computer desktop, double-click the “Audacity” program icon.
  6. Click “OK” to clear the help pop-up window.
  7. Click the input drop-down list and select “Line (USB AUDIO CODEC)”.
  8. Click the output drop-down list and select “Speakers/Headphones (Realtek(R))”.
  9. Click the computer’s Speaker icon and ensure “Speakers/Headphones (Realtek(R) Audio)” is selected.
  10. Click the Project Rate (Hz) drop-down list and select 384000.
  11. Click the red record icon to begin recording, and lower the tone arm to start playing the record.
  12. When the record finishes, click the square stop icon. Or click pause, flip the record, then resume recording.
  13. When finished, go to File → Export → Export as MP3 (or another format).
  14. To save your file:
    • Select the save location
    • Enter a file name
    • From the quality drop-down, select “Insane, 320 kbps”
    • Click the “Save” button
  15. Optionally, enter Metadata Tags (artist, track title, album, etc.), or leave blank, and click “OK”.
  16. When export is complete, the window will close automatically and you're done!
