Medina County District Library is responsible for maintaining a healthy and clean environment for all library users and staff.
For the health and safety of library patrons, shoes and shirts must be worn in all library facilities, including the Bookmobile. Chains or other sharp objects that could damage library furniture must be removed before entering the library.
A generally acceptable standard of personal hygiene will be maintained by the public and staff. Health or hygiene conditions that constitute a nuisance to other library users or staff include, but are not limited to, overwhelming odor or clothing or possessions stained with urine, feces, or other bodily fluids.
MCDL may restrict/suspend a member of the public’s ability to borrow materials and/or visit library facilities when such use may jeopardize the health and cleanliness of library facilities, collections, and users. Access to facilities and borrowing will be restored when it is demonstrated that the situation has been remediated. A patron whose privileges are suspended may request a re-evaluation of the suspension by the Executive Director.
