Skeleton Pot Holder

Appointment:

Call 330-725-0588 x5017 to schedule an appointment with the Cricut & Heat Press.

Supplies:

  • Pot holder with a pocket
  • Iron-on vinyl
  • SVG or Cricut design of a skeleton hand. Bring this either on a flash drive, emailed to yourself, or on your own Cricut design space account.

Step by Step Instructions:

Cricut Set Up:

  1. Log into Cricut Design Space (if you don’t have an account, you can use ours).
  2. Upload your image/file OR if you have your own account open your project.
  3. Format design for how you want it to print.
  4. Turn on the Cricut using the power button.

Make It:

  1. Use a green matt (provided) and place a 12x12” portion of your vinyl shiny side down on the matte adhesive.
  2. Hold the matte up to the cricut wheels and press the load button.
  3. Your mat should roll under the wheels.
  4. On your computer screen select ‘Make it’.
  5. Mirror your image and click continue.
  6. Set the dial on the Cricut to Iron-on.
  7. At this point in time the Cricut button on the machine should start flashing. Press it.
  8. Once the cutting is done press the Flashing Cricut button to dislodge your vinyl.
  9. Weed the excess vinyl from your mat. You should be left with the clear backing and your design on the mat.

Heat Press Set Up:

  1. Make sure the t-shirt attachment for the heat press is on the machine.
  2. Turn on the heat press by plugging it into the wall and flipping the switch.
  3. Press ‘Set’ and set your temperature.
  4. Press ‘Set’ again to set the timer.
  5. Let the heat press pre-heat.
  6. Press your pot holder for 5 seconds (this is just to help smooth any unnecessary creases).
  7. Peel off your design from the adhesive mat.
  8. Place your design so it is vinyl side down and shiny side up on your pot holder.
  9. Place pot holder with design on the bed of the heat press, cover with protective lining (provided).
  10. Lower your heat press and press the down arrow to start the timer.
  11. Hot peel or cold peel based on your iron-on material instructions.
  12. Take home and use it to make some spooky goodies!
