Holiday Head Start: Embroidered Kitchen Towel

Supplies Needed:

  • Towel
  • Embroidery Thread
  • Stabilizer
    • Tear-A-Way
    • Wash-A-Way
    • Sticky
  • Design
    • 11 Fonts and Dozens of Designs on Machine
    • For more designs, search online and bring a PES file on Flash Drive 

Supplies Provided:

  • Embroidery Machine
  • Hoops (4 sizes)
  • Bobbin Thread (White or Black)
  • Needles, Clips, and Other Sewing Tools

Step by Step Instructions:

Watch Training Video

First time users will need to watch a training video, approximately 40 minutes in length.

Choose Pattern and Create Image

  1. Choose Design (provided on machine).
  2. Add Text (fonts on machine).
  3. Make sure image/text is correct size for the towel.

Prepare Material for Machine

  1. Place stabilizer in correct size hoop.
  2. Find center of towel.
  3. Place towel over stabilizer in hoop.
  4. Put top part of hoop over towel.
  5. Tighten hoop.
  6. Make sure material is taut.
  7. Place hoop into machine.

Thread Machine

  1. View pattern screen for correct color to start with.
  2. Keep thread taught.
  3. Follow the numbers and arrows.
  4. Use automatic needle threader.

Embroider Towel

  1. Put presser foot down.
  2. Press Start.
  3. Repeat instructions for “Threading Machine” and “Embroider Towel” until pattern is complete.
  4. Remove hoop.
  5. Remove Towel.

Remove Stabilizer

  1. Trim excess stabilizer around pattern.
  2. If Wash-a-way stabilizer, wash towel.
  3. If not Wash-a-way stabilizer, carefully tear/trim the stabilizer off the towel.
