4 MCDL News & Notes MCDL Accepts Eisner Grant Chris Weaver-Pieh, Collection Resources Director, accepted the 2025 Will Eisner Graphic Novel Growth Grant on behalf of MCDL at this year’s American Library Association Annual Conference in Philadelphia. The grant aims to expand library programs and services that promote graphic novels to patrons. MCDL will use the grant to expand the graphic novels collection and launch events for teens that give them the opportunity to be creative and channel emotion into a physical art form, to see themselves in art of their own making, and to engage with a wider selection of graphic novels. The award included $2,000 to purchase additional graphic novels for the collection, $1,000 for programming, a selection of Will Eisner’s work, and a selection of the winning titles from this year’s Will Eisner Awards at Comic-Con International.
