Scanning Limitations
- What can be scanned:
- Objects between 1.2 x 1.2 x 1.2 inches and 10 x 10 x 10 inches (30 x 30 x 30 mm to 250 x 250 x 250 mm)
- Objects weighing less than 5 kg (11 lbs)
- Difficult to scan:
- Transparent objects like glass
- Shiny/reflective objects (e.g., varnished metal)
- Dark objects (e.g., black keyboard)
- Fuzzy objects (e.g., hair)
- Tip: Use chalk spray or paint to improve scan quality.
- Not recommended:
- Moving objects
- Hollow/complex structures (e.g., Eiffel Tower souvenirs)
- Objects with concave surfaces or holes
- Objects smaller than 1.2 x 1.2 x 1.2 inches (30 x 30 x 30 mm)
Calibration
- Board Placement: Insert calibration board into the holder. Place on center of turntable facing scanner.
- Run Calibration:
- Open software, choose scanner model EinScan-SE, click NEXT.
- Follow on-screen instructions to rotate calibration board.
Calibration Tips
- Calibrate before each use.
- Recalibrate if scanner or turntable is moved.
- Recalibrate if scan quality drops or alignment issues appear.
Scan Process
- Build Project:
- Click “New Project” to begin.
- Texture Scan:
- Use if color texture is needed.
- Perform white balance test first.
- Skip if time is a concern.
- Place Object: Ensure stability.
- Adjust Brightness:
- Use object preview to assess exposure. Too much red = overexposure.
- Refer to exposure guidance in the user manual.
- Stage Rotation: Keep step count low (min 8 steps) for smaller files and faster scans.
- HDR Camera: Enable for high-contrast textures (e.g., checkerboards).
- Scan: Click Scan to begin.
