What to Bring:
- VHS Tape(s), DVD(s), or VHS-C Tape(s) to be converted
- Home movies only; copyrighted materials cannot be converted
- No Betamax Tapes
- Hi-8 or MiniDV conversion possible if you bring your own camcorder
- Flash Drive or External Hard Drive
What is Provided:
- VHS/DVD Player
- VHS-C Tape Adaptor
- Diamond One Touch Video Capture Device
- Software to capture and transfer video
Instructions for Converting VHS and VHS-C Tapes:
- Power on the VHS/DVD player.
- Insert the VHS tape. For VHS-C, place it into the adaptor first.
- Ensure RCA audio/video cables are plugged into the back of the player.
- Connect the Diamond One Touch device (match red/white/yellow RCA cables).
- Plug the USB end into the correct USB port on the computer. Note: Only use the specified port.
- Double-click the CyberLink Power Director 12 icon.
- Click CAPTURE.
- Click Change Folder and select your flash drive as the save location.
- Press Play on the VHS/DVD player.
- Click the red Record button on the screen.
- When finished, click the red Record button again to stop, and press Stop on the player.
- Enter a name for the file when prompted.
Instructions for Converting DVDs:
- Follow steps 1–8 from the VHS instructions above.
- Insert the DVD into the computer’s disc drive (not the external player).
- In the Capture menu, select the Optical Device icon on the right.
- Wait for the DVD to load.
- Select which chapters you want to convert.
- Wait while the video is extracted.
- When prompted, name the file.
