The Medina County District Library’s Obituary Index covers obituaries, death notices and probate notices that have appeared in the Medina County Gazette since the 1850’s. However, not every individual who died in Medina County, Ohio has an obituary in the Gazette. Prior to the 1870’s, any kind of death notice was unusual and reserved for only the most prominent citizens of the county. The library wishes to thank the many dedicated volunteers who have helped with this project over the years. Users of this index should be aware that there are gaps in the index which current volunteers are working to complete.
When you submit requests for
copies of obituaries or other research, please be aware that
there is a $5.00 fee per request (up to 5 obituaries per
request) if you reside outside of Medina County. If you are a
Medina county resident, there is no charge. An invoice for any
fees will be included with your completed copies.
